ABOUT WELLNESS WORKS

The Wellness Works in Howard County program is intended to help employees enjoy the maximum level of personal wellness – and save costs along the way.

Vision

The employees of Howard County Government and its allied agencies will enjoy the maximum level of personal wellness, and the organizations they work for will have a highly engaged and productive workforce.

Goal

To establish and sustain a comprehensive wellness program in which individuals can take charge of their personal well-being and their organizations can realize health care savings.

Objectives

Regularly encourage at least 75% of employees to take or update a Health Risk Assessment (HRA) before December 2010.
Develop interventions, worksite activities, and outcomes measures based on evidence-based standards during the second year of implementation.
Increase the number of preventive care physicals.

Who May Participate

Some programs, such as lunch-n-learn sessions, are open to all Howard County employees.

However, you must be eligible for employee health care benefits to participate in an onsite wellness screening and complete a Health Risk Assessment.

Economic Development Authority
Mental Health Authority
Board of Elections
State’s Attorney
Sheriff’s Office
Soil Conservation Services
